I need the inside diameter measurement for the large hose that comes off of the top of the radiator on my STI 5. Does anyone have the hose sat in their garage after fitting say Samco that they could measure for me? Its so I can get a the boss to fit my SPA Water temp gauge sender in.

Does anyone know of any reason why I shouldn't mount the sender there?

I've fitted the sender for my Defi water temp gauge there and it works fine. My car is an MY98 (not an STI) and I ordered a 40mm adaptor from Demon Tweeks but that turned out to be too large and was an absolute pig to get the hose on to although I managed it in the end. The correct size is 38mm (surprising how much difference 2mm makes to a rubber hose!) which I now have but haven't fitted yet although I know that it's correct because I have a new hose as well. The part no is HA38 and it cost £24.66 all in. Hope this helps.
