Just wondering, My MY01wrx is getting a turbo timer and I have my friends 94 wrx for the day. My car has a full exhaust and induction kit, his has the same. I know the old ones are quicker and then the jap ones quicker again, but Jesus this thing would absolutely destroy my car, it feels twice as quick. Im just wondering what I would have to do to my car to get it that quick.

Would a MY01 wrx with full catless exhaust, all cats out etc, induction kit and ECU Mod be as quick as the 94 jap with full catless and induction kit ?

Cheers

Phil.

The MY94 WRX is lighter than the MY01 (about 150 kg I think) so that will help. Also the 94 has a TD05 which delivers a big kick when it comes on boost so will FEEL quicker than your MY01. In reality there probably ain't that much in it, especially across country. MY94 with decat probably around 255bhp, MY01 with full decat probably 245bhp

Doesnt sound much 10bhp but its that 100kgs that is doing the damage.

For a MY01 WRX to have the same power to weight as a 255bhp 1280kgs WRX its going to need around 280bhp and thats just to be level .

Since weight is more of an issue than power then simple jobs you can do yourself, remove the interior trim, spare wheel, radio, air conditioning system, passenger airbag, rear seats, etc. , etc.
