Can anyone give some details of this change - Is it as easy as unbolt old ones, use a hoist to lift the engine & g`box about an inch, remove and refit?

Can you lift the engine / gearbox without undoing any other mounts / brackets.

Any info gratefully recieved!

I just used a long jack to slightly raise each side in turn. 3 bolts and they're off.

Be aware, some after-market headers make this a *very* difficult job (like, remove the header to change an engine mount ). I'd guess the OE header gives enough clearance, but you should check.

I'd do the gearbox mount at the same time.

Dowser,

Cheers! Did the transmission mount this weekend. Car has HKS headers on so maybe an issue? Is the clearance problem at the collector side (4 into 1 side of headers)?

Did you notice a large NVH / performance effect?

Effect? Just makes everything a bit 'tighter', and the gearbox a bit 'whinier'...it's cumalative really, and the real reason I did it was to try and stop my tilted forward APS tmic from fouling the bonnet in 3rd...it's better now, as long as I'm not too brutal

Can't remember how the HKS headers look but yes, if there's a problem I guess it'll be on the 4-1 side. Best is to get it on a ramp and have a look before you start, the mount must come out towards the front of the engine.
