Would I be right in thinking the older scoobs have the bigger TD05's as standard....which go well on a MY99.

Is it just a case of straight swap no problems ?

Yep, they do apparently suit the newer ones well. I'm not 100% sure, but i think better injectors and fuel pump are required, plus a remap.

The phase 2 engine which your MY99 has, has bigger injectors as standard over the older cars.
Fitting a TD05 turbo would mean that you are going to get stung alot on the insurance side (as you will need a remapped ecu and the turbo isnt a standard fit for your cars year).
I would seriously suggest that you work on other areas of your car before upgrading the performance aspect.... only last week did i see an sti 5 with over 320bhp on standard subaru 4 pots and discs now even ive changed mine as the original items were pretty poor (now have brembo 4 pots on there ).
Performance is nothing if it cannot be harnessed in other areas

Ive seen cars with bigger power on that with the standard 4 pots on it!!

I think the 4 pots work quite well, as long as you have good discs and pads. better than the 2 pots

Red face

But im talking standard discs and pads also!
These sucked on my MY00 (thus the reason i changed ) and the brakes on the car before my scoob (306 GTi-6) felt alot better and had better bite than the scoobs original items
