93wrx, missfire
My 93 wrx has started to missfire at low revs every now and again, worse when cold. I have a blitz induction kit and full decat, no dump valve mods.
Im thinking it may need new plugs as its not had any since I bought it (3 years ago)
Can anyone advise me please?
Thanks for your time, Rob.

Rob,
New plugs make a world of difference, especially if they are 3 years old!
I changed the NGK PFR6B's for NGK PFR7B's in my 93 WRX and I could feel the difference just backing the car off the drive, smoother idle, picks up better.

no special tools needed, just nimble fingers. Be VERY careful taking the coil packs off, they are easy to break. On the passenger side you are better off removing the washer bottle to gain space, and on the drivers side the air filter.

Cheers for the advice, done a search on changing plugs so should be OK there.
im a bit confused though. Are coil packs another word for ht leads? or am I totaly lost!:-)
thanks.

Rob, I did my plugs for the first time and it took me about an hour inluding stopping for a coffee break between cylinder banks
Use a spark plug socket on a 3" extension bar, it should be just long enough to work. Remove the rubber from the spark plug socket or it gets stuck when you put the new plug in.
Scoobies have a coil for each plug which fits directly on the plug, so no HT leads, only an LT lead to each coil pack. I don't reckon they're as delicate as people say, but better not risk it.
For a hefty discount on a front lip and grille I'll do it for you, I'm only in Runcorn (and I'm a mate of Jo and Mark's
)
