Question

Found a pipe loose after car had been into a well known garage to have one of their exhausts fitted.
Originates from a T-piece in the pipe from the inlet manifold to the MAP sensor and connects to some sort of valve which has two other pipes joining to it, one of which connects to the turbo inlet hose.
Realised something was wrong as the car was seriously over boosting but not activating fuel cut. Logging on delta dash showed the MAP sensor reading a max of 11psi despite 16psi registering on my boost gauge.
This had definately been done deliberately as the pipe was definately connected when it went in for the exhaust plus the loose pipe had been tucked under the airbox to stop it hanging loose!! It was obviously working as a makeshift bleedvalve.

It is a pipe for the wee valve that vents the fuel vapour fumes from the charcoal canister to the inlet system.
If it leaks, it will give incorrect MAP sensor readings.
I think the valve just opens under vacuum, allowing the fumes do be drawn into the inlet pipe.
