I have just bought a ‘00’ bug eye WRX. When I reverse then press the break I get a clunk sound that seems to come from engine ish direction, when I first heard it I thought it came from the gear box. Is this normal? Or any ideas what it could be or am I best taking it to the main dealer?

cheers

The problem explained sounds like brake pad tollerance. What the noise is, is the pad moving in the caliper, I wondered what this noise was after fitting race pads to my car.

You may also here this noise when you go over a decent bump at slow speed.
