Question

Hi guys,

Apart from the actual gaskets and o-rings for the bolts is there anything else that needs changing? Is this an easy enough job to DIY? I'm fairly handy with a spanner but could never be called a mechanic (or should that be technician? )

Cheers,

PaulHop

Gasket, and seals for bolts... thats all I would expect... as subaru when you order the parts, I would expect it to be a common job.

Thumbs up

Charlie,

I've just got off the phone from my dealer, and the gaskets/o-rings etc to replace both sides come in at about £65. Not too bad, just need to find the time to replace them.
Anyone know how long this should take? So I can add another day for me to do it!!

Cheers,

PaulHop

Question

Mr Wallis,

As an accomplished Scooby spanner-man, (I've read your DIY threads!!) do you know what size the o-rings are, as the dealer wants £1.20 each FFS and you need 12 to do the job Just for an o-ring! Surely they are cheaper elsewhere.....

Cheers,

there not just o-rings iirc.. you could not bother replacing them and then replace later if necessary.. Ie one at a time

Any chance of taking a few photo's along the way for future reference to others? After the fun I've had with mine recently, I'll leave changing mine to someone else. David, do you fancy a job

Yeah about an hour either side if you don't get distracted and start cleaning all sorts of stuff while you have the air plumbing, washer and battery out.
