I asked my dealer how to reset the ecu as he told me when i took delivery that he had only put normal unleaded in the tank as the perol station they had an account at did not sell s/unleaded. (marvellous).

Apparently if you turn they ignition key off and on 5 times it resets the ECU.

Sounds utter bolliks to me as it is too easy.

I can't believe they put sh 1 t petrol in as 'it's only running in.'

I suppose a bit of det is covered under warranty then cos i put poo fuel in?

Interesting however, that on subaru.co.uk for the sti, they say 95 ron minimum.. yet on the sticker inside the fuel cap cover thing, it mentions 98 ron.

The ECU should auto detect and adjust for your fuel without having to do a reset.

Thanks for your replies guys, but why did the salesman (son of the owner of the dealership) tell me about the key thing?

Could he be a dreamer? Surely not?!
