I dont think aluminium bends very well. Its quite brittle, and tends to break/split.

Depending on what tube you yet, you want it in a soft condition.

For strain hardening alloys (5XXX) you can get what's commonly known as 1/2 hard, and 1/4 hard.

For heat treatable alloys like 6082 (HE30) get T4 which is quenched but not aged.

I'm no expert when it comes to bending ali tube, but I'm sure those that are can recomend an alloy to use.

Cheers for the Mail david,

The aluminum tube is not for me, sorry for not making it clear in the original post.
It's Forge Motorsport that needs a company to bend tube...what tube and what size, I have no idea.
They are struggling to find a company in the UK that can help them out. (having to order it in from abroad at the mo).
It was mentioned, if I could find anyone "around" it would be worth a BIG favour.

Would you like some work put your way!

edit to add: A LOT OF WORK PUT YOUR WAY.....

(for me, this a favour to another company, I'm hoping to get some bits a little cheaper If I can find a company in the UK that does this.)
Help

hope this does not break the charter rules !

Andy
