Question

I seem to be getting rather a lot of belt noise from the engine of my MY99. Not affecting performance but it is getting worse slowly. Seems to be just a constant squeaking as the belt (whichever one it is) turns. I have been told that this could be the air-con belt as apparantely they are prone to going. However, just for my own mind I have posted here to get some advice from all you technical gurus!! It is affected by rpm levels as well, seemingly dissapearing at around 3000rpm. Also is more like a squeaking pulley than the actual belt. Thanks fellas!!

It disappears after 3000 rpm?

I've had a squeaky aircon belt spindle with similar symptoms on my MY00 - had it replaced under warranty and all tickety-boo since. I found a liberal amount of WD40 used to cure it temporarily.
