I've just decatted my 99 UK Turbo with a full Scoobysport system and noticed that my exhaust pipe is not only VERY VERY sooty, its also brown around the outer edge of the pipe, any idea what this is, has it been flaming??

I've got nothing else apart from an ITG Panel Filter, I thought they only flamed with Cones?

Havent seen any flames on dark roads so I'm guessing its something else, but what?

Also it pops and bangs lots, especially if you wind the turbo up and then back off and nudge the throttle, is this normal?

Get loads of pops and bangs from my de-cat.

The soot on mine is more black than brown but it doesn't take long to get the pipe pretty mucky.

Brasso works wonders.

I'm also very sad for keeping my exhaust that clean.

Oh!! Didn't realise you didn't know what it is, sounded like you didn't believe me.

It's stuff that cleans brass and Scoobysport exhausts.
Usually found in cupboards under kitchen sinks.
