Hi Everyone,
New to the forum and need some advice please!As the car is slowing down on the overrun I'm getting a graunching *** scraping noise coming from what sounds like the drivers rear wheel,braking doesn't make any difference,but dipping the clutch quietens it down a little,so,is it the diff,a driveshaft,wheelbearing or just the newness wearing off? we've done 130000 by the way,but everything still all feels nice and tight and this noise is spoiling a fantastic car,it does sound like pads to metal,but obviously i've checked they're ok.thanks in advance.....

Thanks for looking at my Question,but please,someone out there must have some idea of what this fault is!Just a pointer to a common problem would be helpful,ie.are the diffs really indestructable,or is the shaft likely to let go first?How strong are the hubs/bearings?Any help from all you Scooby experts would really be appreciated,even if it's to tell me bad news!!

Worth checking the wheel bearings and all bushes..

Not something I have read about on here before..

No problem.. you can check the wheel bearings but jacking the car up and checking for play in the wheels movement by pulling bottom of the wheel forward and pushing the top of the wheel inwards etc..

A little bit is fine but anything more and you need new bearings.

I have 118,000miles on mine so glad to see others with more on about.
