How many miles can a impreza turbo do before its classed as high mileage and problems will occur?

What sort of things should you look for when buying an import.

The impreza Im interested in is a imported turbo, L reg (1994)

Do you get any problems with an import, Do the dealers treat them different? I know some one who has an imported Pug 206 cc and she had problems with the dealers. (they were just rude cause she didnt buy it from them)

N E info would be appreciated.

Cheers

Always owned an import (4 now), the Subaru dealers will not touch them (as a general rule), the odd dealer will take them on but this is pretty rare. There are plently of good, reputable mechanics (usually specialist motorsport garages) that will take the car on and know what they are doing. If you put a post on scoobynet asking where your nearest good gargage is you'll get a good response.

Mileage is not as important as history (almost impossible if you are importing it yourself, easier if the car has been in the UK a while), although I would be wary of buying anything imported over say around 70,000 miles. I tend to sell my WRX's on after about 75,000 (but that's just me being cautious) get it thouroughly checked out by either someone that knows the car inside (again many of the guys on here really know their stuff and would probably be willing to help for the price of a beer or two) or at the very least an AA type blokey.

Hope this helps.

Good luck

James
