Question

Not that I have a problem with this, but hes the first person I really know who has admitted he's gay. He's also the most unlikely candidate I could think of........you wouldnt guess it in a million years.

Im quite shocked really, he didnt just admit to "realising hes gay" hes full on in the gay night clubs, in a gay gym, having erm "encounters" in toilets type of thing etc etc.....

Anyone else have this happen?

Andy

On of my best mates is the same - he came 'out' about 2 years ago. It was a quite weird/sickening/worrying (theres a mass of emotion you feel) at first, but at the end of the day he was a mate for a reason, and that should still exist. If you adjust to his lifestyle then you'll remain that way. It really does let you know how you feel about this type of stuff. I believe in live and let live, although the actual physicals of it all put me off big time.

Its best to establish what your comfortable with, and not so comfortable with to him. Then you can restyle your friendship to accommodate it.

One thing though, my mate cant dance - so that blows the 'men who dance are gay' theory.

Oh, and another thing - if your smart, you'll be amazed at all the top girlies he gets to know - if they aint gay as well though It does have some unforeseen benefits.

Dunno why this is the case for a lot of people. I personally don't care, as long as they're cool with me, I'm their mate. To be honest I actually encourage it for women to be gay..

Ditto with Kat, everyone i know could be gay, wouldn't worry me at all, as long as they realised i wasn't!

Two of my friends are gay, and have been in a long term relationship as long as I have known them.

Two nicer, more intelligent people you could not hope to meet. As to their private life, then that is theirs just like any couple.

People fall into two categories in my book..

The good uns

and the

rest....

Sexual proclivity does not decide which group someone fits into

My mate was dead worried about telling me, thinking I would react vrey badly to it. Turned out that I just went 'oh, are you?' and that was it A lot of other people reacted a lot worse though

Doesn't really bother me, he's still a good mate and the same person that I went to school with (albeit a bit older )

Homosexuality is unnatural. Makes me sick just thinking about it. Homosexuality was regarded a disease until 1986 in France. No idea why that changed. Gay seems to be "in" at the moment...

Claudius, hurtling along the road at 70mph is unnatural....can you do it without your car?

Nothing against them personally, and not wanting to start a war with anyone, I just say each to their own....apart from thieving criminal scum

Seriously, i have nothing against gays. Its not something they've chosen to be, its just how they are and always will be. I just don't like it when they're being blatantly camp, or getting hold of each other in public. That turns my stomach, but thats my problem, its a free country (allegedly).

Plus point, the more gay men there are means more single girls for us straight blokes!

I cannot say that it is not true, however ... it would be difficult to do 70 mph in a car if they did not exist, which they wouldn't if it were 'natural' for man to attempt to procreate with man now would it.

Yeah, that analogy is pretty shiddy

Being gay is ABNORMAL.

If only men were homosexual, then I guess that would be true...

Must agree with Rich. Claudia, you're either hiding something, or had a bad experience down a dark alley one night with Mr.Big!!

Open your mind and chill out a bit mate!

Claudius is right in that it is unnatural. Thats why there are two sexes, Male and female so that they can procreate. If it was normal then we would surely be extinct wouldnt we.

Does seem "in" these days to be a fudge packer though, just look at the government its full of em.

Also think its very wrong to teach kids in school that its normal to be homosexual (gay being the wrong description). What happened to the old Janet and John books?. Now its all Peter and Paul go shopping etc. Pathetic.

Saying all this though I had 2 lessies living next to me for 10 years and they were really nice people.Just a little mixed up I guess.

Chip.

Its not "gay" thats in Claudius, its social tolerence, which is why we more readily accept lots of other things that dont fit into the white 2.4 children society.

The reason more people seem to be gay these days is simply because it's more sociably acceptable to be gay and come 'out' than it was. It was illegal to be gay in the UK until 1967.

Just as much of the population (percentage wise) were gay in the past, they just chose to hide it and live an outwardly normal life. Apart from the brave few who defied convention and paved the way for the rest.

And no, I'm in no way gay. I have a couple of friends who are, and looking past who they fancy or want to **** leaves them as just the same as me in most ways!

I agree fatherpierre, alhtough there does seem to be a certain kudos to it now. Each to their own and as far as the original topic is concerned I shouldn't waste too much time worrying about it ADP ...
