What made it go? Was it a plastic one? New ones come with integral lids etc, and are easy to DIY fit.(Make sure the one you buy will fit where it's supposed to..................)

it just corroded away by the looks of it. Luckily, I had a plumber in as the bleed valve was really innaccesible as it was blocked in by what looked like a non standard cupboard underneath. So plenty of buckets about!! Plumber touched the bleed valve and hey presto water everywhere.

I've had a look on the net and found the company that make them there are 3 types 2 appear very similar and another which is a step up and has mains pressure for showering and a few other things and only 3 connections! So doesn't look like I'll need a plumber to put it in.

The strange thing is I live in a one bed flat and the tank capacity is 210 litres which seems really high for just one person.
