Would this wastegate pass an MOT ?

Scroll down the pics, would a wastegate discharge like this pass an MOT ? It would be non functional during the actual test so ????

I think the Greddy turbo kits have an external dumping wastegate. But as you say, unless they take the boost beyond the wastegate opening pressure, no noise.
I had a nice long look at that thread yesterday as it happens, very nice.

It's just not an MOT issue (relating to noise !).
You will never get the WG to open at standstill, unless you run ALS, and I doubt you'd switch it on during an MOT test
A lot of time, care, and money has gone into that car. It will be interesting to see what it does.

Cat test with ALS on Wonder what the CO/HC's would be there Just warming the cat up gov, honest !

Who cares, it looks like a brand new car, anyway, so u got 4 years before an MOT is due ( well here anyway )
Looks like that car should go pretty well, although not sure what the open wastegate would really sound like...
I heard a celica once, with a huge HKS turbo, and external wastegate, dumping like shown...It sounded like a blow out on the exhaust when opened. It didnt have much power though, im sure if it had 500bhp it would sound good whatever was on it
