Sorry to bring this subject up again but what oil grade / make is best and also how many litres are required for an empty box.

castrol syntrax is the baby to use.. can't remember the qty though !

Just come back from Brands Hatch having changed the trans oil yesterday.

Put syntrax in, shifts much better.....just the half tea-spoon of swarf on the sump plug to worry about!!!!!!!!

Yeah - depending on mileage, as long as there are no teeth in the swarf you should be ok.. 30k miles, 1/4 a teaspoon, 50k+ miles maybe 3/4 teaspoon.

Another thumbs up for Syntrax,about £10 per litre, but you should notice a difference p.s(don,t forget the rear diff as well)!

indeed i did rear diff at same time, but I got a Type R which needs castrol LS diff oil so check which oil your car needs for difs first

I have an RA. Where does the rear diff oil go then?
And it needs to be different stuff?

Doesnt an RA have a proper plate type lsd at the rear requiring lsd oil?????
