Question

Just been looking around for some exhaust wrap for my downpipe (not looking forward to fitting it ) and seen Cooltek stuff. Anybody actually using it? It cost £15.50 for a 50mm wide 10m roll (is 10m long enough for a downpipe) and 7.95 for 3m of strap with 15 clips. See it hear :

Cooltek

I've looked at the stuff Demon Tweeks sell (DEi and Cool IT) and they are a bit more expensive but come in 15m lengths. What do you guys suggest and where from? Power wrap from Rally Design is thinner and more expensive too.

Cheers,

Tony.

P.s to those who have wrapped the headers too did you use the same stuff? Most of the wrap i have seen say it is not suitable for cast headers (which some of the OEM one is).

I've got a load of this

Given the choice again i would get the stuff from rally designs, it's only slightly more.

The cooltek stuff is glass only, the rally design stuff (david has some) appears to be impregnated with something, and is nicer to handle.

Either probably work the same, but cooltek would be my second choice.

1" wide stuff better for headers, 2" fine for downpip and up-pipe.

Cheers Paul.

The Rally design stuff it is then...... what does everybody secure it with? Also does anybody use the silcone spray stuff that goes on top of the wrap to seal it?

Tony.
