Hiya all

I switched off my car yesterday and when I went to alarm it, it would not do it.
As I had allowed some time to pass the automatic immobilser kicked in. I thought it must of been the batteries and so replaced them but still no luck. Car would not start ( no noise). Spoke to Subaru Assistance who told me that as I am parked near Euston train Station that the electrical fields may be causing the alarm to misbehave and an engineer is on his way.

However the engineer thought it might be the starter motor and so told me to put it in 2nd gear, he pushed the car and when it got up to some speed told me to release the clutch. It started - yIPPEEEEEEE. Apparently I had a sticky atrter motor.

If the car was immobilised then how did it start without disarmig the immobilser first??????

Do I eed to get the starter motor repaired or replaced? or is this a kow problem

TIA

The immobiliser just cuts power to the starter motor ?
