Can someone tell me where the engine number is stamped on the engine block?

 

There is an engine ID sticker on the timing belt cover, if you look at the engine from the front of the car, its on the lower left hand side.

 

i think it's stamped in to the top of the block near the bell housing on the left hand side. opposite the starter motor i think

 

It is by the starter motor

 

I might be wrong but the engine no allows you to identify if it is aclosed deck block! There is a website with engine no's identifying which is which.

- yes - that's why I want to check the number, it is a closed deck block but I need to check which version - whether its the one with the lightened pistons or not.
