Oil in the intake
You overfilled the oil a bit right guys? Not really life threatening but will strain your gaskets more as it has to deal with the extra pressure.
As for boost solenoid playing up, clean it up with brake cleaner.
edited to say not fluid, cleaner.

Whilst removing the air filter this evening I noticed there is lots of oil in the air intake.. no it was not from my ITG panel filter as the filter box top was clean
Sorry where was I .. oh yes.. lots of oil literally just before the inlet from where air enters the actual inlet manifold.
There is a large bore curve pipe with a small pipe that connects in the top and another with like a cube in it below that and oil appears to be coming out of both of those and running down the engine making nice oil runs marks..
I know there is the breathers from the cam covers but should I expect this much? noticed a little before but not investigaed this much before.. might be time for a catch tank.. if there was too much oil in the engine would it come out here? possible I put maybe 0.20litres too much in about 3,000miles ago.. when I re-look at the can I poured the oil out of.. etc...
Doh!

And have a look at the intercooler - a nice thin layer of oil all over that, I expect!
If you ask me, this is the disadvantage of the re-circ BOVs - blows oil fumes round into the inlet & then keeps blowing them round & round...

mmmm!!! when you say the boost solenoid was playing up - what was it doing - this just might be what is wrong with mine!!
I am getting a ticking noise and and a loss of power!!
Cleaned the soleneoid with brake cleaner and it improved but problem re-appeared!!! Where would the oil be getting into the solenoid from? Have now cleaned the pipes as well and it seems OK but would like to understand what caused it!!
