Is there a risk to the MAF sensor by having a K&N panel filter fitted on a STi7? My Subaru dealer fitted it about 2 months ago and I also had the car tuned a couple of weeks ago to 305 PS/427Nm (315lb) (downpipe sports cat and remap). They told me that they normally don't change the filter but that the K&N is OK as it's on now and that they use it a lot on the EVOs. Also, as far as filtration which does the best job - original or K&N? What should I do? Should I revert to the original filter? Any advice appreciated.

IIRC, no problems reported that I've seen on here with K+N panel. I can't say the same for cone induction but it may be OK too.

K+N is the only one that I'd be happy with apart from std paper. I'd be interested to see John F's STI paper jobbie.
