Question

Hello All,

Last month I decided to sort out my leaking drivers side rocker cover gasket on my Impreza 1997 Catalunya . Now it's leaking from exactly the same spot again after fitting new gaskets and sealant.
My question is :
Should I have put gasket sealant on both of the mating surfaces of the gasket. At the time I only put some on the rocker cover side to hold the gaskets in place whilst fitting it. I also use the blue gasket sealant stuff from halfords.
What gasket sealant have you guys use to do the job ??
Anymore recommendations before I take the rocker cover off again and re-do the job !!

Cheers

Gary.

Did you also do the half-moon rubber endcaps?

These are also prone to leaking......

JamesS,

Regarding the half-moon rubber end caps. Nope haven't replaced them. Do I need to do that also. Maybe that's why it's leaking.
Are they the 2-caps at either side of the bottom of the head ??

Cheers
