An ex-pat pal of my father's living in Portugal has just bought a new (LHD) MY2001 WRX, and is looking to fit the PPP.

However his supplying dealer over there has stated that it cannot be supplied, as it is a UK fitted option.

He has not yet been in touch with Prodrive, although I seem to recall that the PPP has to be fitted through your local dealer, who then send the car to Banbury for the work to be carried out.

Anyone know if the kit can be supplied, exported and then retro fitted by a dealer or otherwise? Or will the car have to come back to Prodrive?

My dealer fitted mine

indeed as far as I am aware all MY01 WRX are dealer fit (Stand to be corrected)

I suppose you just need to speak to Prodrive
to see if they will export

I know that fitting the PPP for the my99 voids the warranty on cars in the republic of Ireland, it might be worth checking out if it affects the warranty on cars in Portugal..
