Morrettes for MY99 - an upgrade?
Hello,
Has anyone having fitted the twin lamp Morrettes on the old shape Imp found an improvement in the amount of light projected onto the road.
The standard lights are the crappiest I have ever seen, my fiesta has better!
Any help/advice gratefully received

Tony thanks very much. Its probably the dipped beam performance I'm most interested in.
Scoobymania seem to have the best price (surprisingly not the Scoobynet shop).
Are they easy to fit? Will I need to get them set up at a garage?
Thanks for your reply

Easy to fit,(about an hour will see it done.)
Set up: get a local MoT station to do it, for a payment of about £5.
They aren't the easiest things to do. When fitting them, offer up the units to the car,(dry-fit?), mark where the inner, main beam adjusters are, remove the unit, and "modify the bodywork" behind tyhe light with a hammer and a blunt screwdriver. Touch up if necessary b4 fitting.
I did this , but only AFTER I had discovered how difficult the lights are to set up!! Funnily enough, I mentioned it to "Moles Dad" in one of these threads, and he'd done the same thing. I'm gonna miss that guy's input.

Thank you,
Taking a hammer to my nice virgin motor car doesn't seem right, is that really necessary?
Are you happy with them? I'm not worried about the looks more about being able to see in the dark...!
Thanks Again

Hardly "Virgin" if it's a classic, but I take your point. (Unless you bought it from Richard Branson?)
Seriously: you only have to bend the offending bit downwards, once the lights are in place, you'll not see it, I guarantee.
No, it's not necessary, but DOES make for much easier adjustment of the inner lights. Your choice.
Once you get 'em set up right, it's about 50% better on dip, and 100% on main.

I find the dips are only marginally better than the std headlights, the big difference is on the mains (Tho I have P1 Spots too), fitting is easy took me about 45 mins and they are easy to set up as well, just needs a little fiddling with the nuts / wings at the back to get the desired setup.
