Well, I bit the bullet yesterday and P/ex'd Rallisport Challenge for CMR3.

1st impressions are :-

1 Cars look great!
2. was expecting the same controls as CMR2, shame you can't reconfigure
3. In Championship mode, it looks like so far you can only play as Mr McCrash
4. Service area is great!
5. Rallies are also very, very good.
6. Damage is much more accurate - watch out for the big jumps!!

All in all, very good - much better than Rallisport. Better than CMR2? hmmm...not sure. Graphically, yes. Car handling, yes Playability, No, not unless you can change the controls (triggers to change gear please!)

Or am I missing something? Might help if I read the instructions!!

Dam

Can't wait to play it

Looking on the net it's hard to get a review of it cause all the X-box sites seem to be American and dont have CM3

I thought so too DW, but alas, no

Still, I'm getting use to using a semi-automatic box at the moment!!

The Japan and Swedish rallies are the BEST scenarios I've ever seen in a rally game!!!!

Graphics are fuggun awesome!!!!

The rain & snow on the windscreen are sooooo realistic.....

Well, chuffed - even if the controls take some getting used to #

<<Flamesuit on>>

Played the game on Friday night for the first time, have to say, very disappointed.

Graphics are ****e..seen it all before when titles are released and developed across all consoles. Hardly any of the Xbox features are used, game looks so so PS2.

Gameplay, is not too bad, still not Rallisport beater though.

Fair enough

I did actually think it is better than rallisport. I was really disappointed with Rallisport - handling, graphics etc (how all the cars looked squashed - NO, I had set the widescreen settings properly!!)

I thought that the driver (you) didn't feel part of the game.....

Still, they might get it right for the PC launch!!!

Just my 2p

Is it possible to play CMR3 with our beloved car in the main career mode? I am kind of fed-up with all those (grafically) badly ported games (from PS2). Hmm.. I would have to wait for the US-NTSC version anyway. I want to wait for some more reviews before I buy this game.

Thumbs up

Dan - just tried it, you cant change the buttons, only the 2 button setups, not indi buttons

Game is still great though, even though it lacks some major details, such as the champ mode, driver times etc. A great fun game for driving quickly around close scenery.

Jack - it's not in the game. You have to change it from the XBox load-up screen.

Didnt see this thread

On the widescreen thing, i have a Toshiba dolby pro logic tv, only about 3 years old. In order for me to play it without the cars looking like they are stretched vertically i need to set the ratio on the TV to 16:9, what this does is give me two huge black strips across the top and bottom of the tv screen. The picture and ratio look right, but i would like to play it with the full screen view if possible.

In the instruction manual it refers to the graphics area to change the screen ratio. Surprisingly enough, on the actual game there is no option to change this. Also in 2 player mode i can only get the split screen vertically

anyone else noticed this or has any ideas?

thanks

chris
