I use Ice Blue headlight bulbs and they are great, massive improvement over OEMs, but make the sidelights look yellow - and they are halfords lazer blues
The ice blues were about £14

The ones that "won" the Auto Express review were Philips Vision Plus, 50% brighter. About £20.
Some of the others WERE brighter, but their quality control let them down, so they put light all over the place. Just what you don't want if it's raining......unless you LIKE being flashed?

I fitted the PIAA SUPER WHITES to MY00, £45 30% brighter white light,
also PIAA do bright white side lights to compliment the headlight bulbs, as they look crap with the standard bulb in.
I was very impressed with the results at night

just fitted philips vision plus bulbs in heads and sides. Pretty white light, better than old but i took phillips out!! sidelights look less yellow, i took pictures of the differences so will see if i can sort something out. Powerbulbs.com got me the lights wihin 24hrs and FYI 99turbo takes H4s.
I've tried everything, PIAA overpriced, overhyped and overheat

I've got philips vision jobbies now. Very good imo. The main beam is like a pair of Old Trafford flood lights. I did prefer my Ring Electra Ice Blue however. Even though the Main beam wasn't as smart, the dipped beam was better. Unfortunately the Scoob ate one

Agree with Dave T-S. I went through numerous PIAA bulbs on my old MY00. I had loads of replacements from PIAA and they all went the same way - in the bin!
Powerbulbs - good site with good service and prices. The Phillips Vision Plus bulbs were the best I used - and I would still be using them if I didn't now have HID in my MY01
. The Phillips bulbs are as bright as the PIAAs and about half the cost and come with free 'white' sidelights to replace the standard ones.

I bought the vision plus bulbs for the dipped lights, and the 100w rallye for the main beam last week. I only fitted them yesterday, but they do actually appear to work quite well.
I switched the lights on last night on the drive just to see if they were any better.
