Question

the car is a my 00 with full decat trust +decated downpipe+apexi power intake+full samco kit.
before i even start thinking about a vf23 or 29 i want to get as much hp as i can from the ecu.
what is better to do ,buy a second hand ppp ecu or do a tek2 remap on the std ecu???(and keeping the std td04l for some time)
and of course on the long run which one would work better with a larger turbo?
thanks.

Get the large turbo and get a TEK3 custom map

Not sure if WREXY does custom mapping in Greece (although I expect Greece might be a biggish place I only know one bit, Pathos)

No good at geography!

Buy first new turbo and go for TEK3, a bit difficult the "remote" mapping but if done right you'll have better results than PPP ECU.
And I don't try to sell you my PPP ECU if you believe this!!!

Remember that all the ECU is is a tool to make the best of the kit that you have - and that tool is only as good as the mapper!
In short, get all the kit you're after, then get the ECU remapped (Tek3 or whatever - I wouldn't have thought a Prodrive one is a good choice in your case as it's a dead-end, designed to work with a set bit of kit!)

ok i understand BUT if i keep the td04l for a while should i go for a tek2 or 3?
i understand that i might have to re-remap the tek2 afterwards but it amazes me that a tek 2 would not work properly with a larger turbo unit.

Blachie I had my MY00 for three weeks with PE manifold, Magnex downpipe and complete PPP without problems except a slight lean spot under 3000rpm due to PE manifold upgrade. The only problem is that you have to fit a control device such as restrictor/bleed/Dawes to control the boost. Dowser has had similar setup for a long period without problems also.
No problem so far but if you plan to fit a new turbo later it is better to wait for a TEK3 (don't go for a TEK2 IMHO).

100 tis 100 tek3 mate. Getting a prodrive ecu degeats the object. Their ecu is for mass market and not really customised for your car. I see you have made contact with wrexy who has i think tek2 or 3. Ive been in his scoob which is pretty imprezive. I know he bought a new turbo for the car but i didnt get a chance to sit in the car afterwards.

Cheers
