Question

Bit of a daft question as usual but.....

I have a Prodrive P1 backbox on my, er, P1. Am I supposed to be able to see the P1 logo (top of the tail pipe) when the thing is fitted to the car? As it is at the moment the logo is pretty much all covered up by the rear bumper; this doesn't bother me per se, I was just concerned that perhaps it wasn't positioned correctly on the car...
The top of the tailpipe also sits very close to the bottom of the rear bumper.....

Cheers - I'm sure mine's not right but I've no idea how to "adjust" it or whatever....

Anyone know what I can do to adjust it's position? It's starting to rub on the bottom of the bumper and that's just a bit crap frankly

Simon,
From looking at the pictures it is not right. You should be able to fit your fingers/hand in between the bumper and the pipe.
Has it always been like this?

Thanks Oliver

It's only been on a week or so and has always been in that position. Prior to that I had a 99/00 PPP backbox (identical dimensions) and that sat in a similar position.

Does the P1 backbox normally come with different rubber hangers? I'm using the ones from the STi backbox - it seems that if the rubber hangers were longer the box would sit properly....

Here's a picture of the P1 Prodrive silencer on mine (I should have cleaned the car before I took the shot)

And from underneath

Yours doesn't look quite right, but as I didn't have it on my car for longer than three days I can't check. Full story on

Simon,

That could be it you may need different rubbers. It looks ok just needs to be a bit lower.Approx 3/4" inch from the bumper.

That's interesting as my WR Sport back box looks identical to the P1 BB apart from the oval tail pipe. The dealers put new rubbers on mine and they do look a bit longer too.
