having just rebuilt the engine, i am waiting till 1200miles to complete run in period (will have covered 850 miles by tomorrow).

at the 1200mile time, i was thinking of getting it set-up (apexi fuel/boost controllers etc) on a rolling road.

however, is it wise to subject the engine to the punishment of a rolling road at such a low milage?

thanks
ian

IMHO no, give it few more k.
Give it a chance to loosen up, save you going back for a re-map when it is loose.

my engine being run in on a bench dyno and then run uo max power soon afterwards.

This is apparently stndard practice and nothing tio be concerned about.

Depends on the tolerances when built. The tighter you built it, the more miles you should give it.
From memory, I think you did build it fairly loose, so probably wouldnt worry too much.

Adam, Stevie, thats reassuring then
bearings are standard subaru tolerances, pistons are cossie forged with 3 thou clearance. heads etc are the old ones.

feels really loose and zappy already.

done 870miles now

cheers
