Just bought a P1 and would like a bit more of an audible exhaust note, what do I upgrade and which brand?

Got urself a P1 then lodd! Got any pics and how you finding it?

Depends what u want out of your exhaust. Magnex 6"4" Oval looks good and is cheap <£200. Scoobysport sounds nice but looks a bit understated for a P1. TSL Firestorm looks and sounds great - see YaNa's P1. Blitz is probably the loudest.

Simon.

I got the Prodrive rear box and then put on a ScoobyMania front and centre (decat 3") I get to keep the nice P1 logo on the tailpipe oh, and it sounds glorious...

I've been banding these recordings about, might as well do it some more...

This my P1 before exhaust (standard)

This is with the ScoobyMania and a rear WR exhaust

Loddrik, who are you insured with? that price is ridiculous!!
I just got my P1 insurance for £1190! I'm 25, got 3yrs NCB and no points, and i live in Romford.

Try Greenlight (01277263030).

Try living in Liverpool, greenlight would not quote me, believe me that was the best quote I could get and believe me I tried. My other half is from SE London and a quote from there is way, way cheaper than Liverpool, which, along with Manchester has the highest rates in the country. So for people who may have read some of my previous posts and thought I was in impezaphobe, this should answer that. Why do I pay it? Becuase if I Don't pay the going rate I'd start driving a Hyundai.

Spose i should stop moaning about living in Romford then!

As the P1's centre section is already a straight pipe (ie, no boxes or cat), does it make any difference changing it to an after market centre section?

It has a couple of resonators in it, also I put in 3" all the way; the original is smaller... If you really want to know how much smaller say so and I'll go and measure it, as it is in the garage under the bench

Is there any actual benefit changing the centre section? I have a Prodrive rear box on at the moment and my old Magnex centre on a shelf in the garage.....worth putting that on?

I doubt if there is much benefit... There will be some, but I would not have bothered if I had not been doing the front section as well.

Having said that it will change the 'audible performance' of the exhaust - if that is what you want.

If I was in your position, i.e. I had one sitting in my garage - so it was free, I would do it!

It's the one [a href=http://www.scoobymania.com/site_nonflash.asp?page=exhausts]here[/a]

I asked who made it, as I thought it was imported from OZ (very similar to one advertised there) but they said they had it made specially.

Big thing that sold it for me was the small flap seperating the turbo gases from the wastegate - smoother flow imediately after the turbo... Oh and when I got it I realised I had forgotton to order the blanking bolt for the exhaust gas sensor, you can block it with a spark plug though!

Cheers...
