I've looked around and have not seen anyone post any issues about the Scoobysport uppipe leaking. Can those who are currently running a Scoobysport uppipe please reply if they do or do not have leaks? Particularly on the new age WRX.

Scoobysport, feel free to drop a line letting us know the feedback from your customers on uppipe leaks.

Downeyer

Our first batch had some problems with flange flatness, but this was sorted quite some time ago.

Thanks for the info Pete. I remember reading about the flange flatness issue in another post. Has anyone reported leak issues on uppipes besides these in the first batch? Anyone reported leaks that generated several months after the install? Are leaks covered by any warranty?

MY00 - Have one of the later up-pipes. Un utter £$^&^%£& to get on - it didn't appear to be quite the right shape & needed a great deal of heaving about. However, now it's there, it seems very secure - no leaking, odd noises or anything. It has only been on for a couple of thousand miles, though.

I had trouble with mine which was fitted by a Subaru dealer. It was blowing bad so I took it back and they refitted it. However, a couple of days later it was blowing again. As I thought the part was faulty I drove to Scoobysport, who advised that the gaskets fitted were not genuine subaru ones with a copper bit that squeezes up and seals. They sorted it by fitting the correct gaskets and I've not had any trouble since.

The moral in this for me was, even if its inconvenient to do so, go to someone who does this work regularly. Mine was the first the dealer had done, and not only did they not fit it right, it took them all day! Fortunately they didn't charge me for all day, but still twice that of SS.

Thought I'd bring this thread back to life and see if anyone has developed any uppipe leaks. I'm assuming the most miles will be put on the Hayward and Scott pipes. Please indicate if your uppipe is a Hayward and Scott or a Janspeed.

I haven't Scoobysport up pipe but I am curious, is it possible to put some exhaust paste to connections in order to eliminate any possible leaking from gaskets?

SS up-pipe from HKS headers. 10K miles no problem, although as stated above not `easy` to fit!

Mine are still going fine too, although after some driving through a river (well, the North Circular, but it had been raining hard enough for cars to be creating bow waves ), I had to take the headers off as the gaskets didn't like being 'cooled' like that... the up-pipe (top end) was still on perfectly, and the bottom end - after re-gasketing - fitted perfectly, with very little effort this time. Or maybe I knew what I was doing that time .
No complaints about the up-pipe, anyway!

I have had my Scoobysport up pipe on for a few months now with no problems. I do not know if it made any improvements as I fitted a hybrid turbo at the same time. Only 1 criticism is that it didn't come with a blanking plug for the exhaust temp probe which mine needed, I realised halfway through fitting. Luckily the local Toyota dealer had a sump bung the correct size so I could finish the job.

Have just replaced the uppipe it split at the weld right at the top of the pipe. Was sent new unit by Haywood & Scot after speaking to them last Tuesday and recieved new unit the next day.
The car has covered 25,000 mile from new(STi7),but has been blowing for the last 6-8 weeks but not had a chance to get it fixed.

bump

Had my Janspeed manifold and uppipe and today after been on the car 2 years and covering around 20k miles its developed a split on the weld on the flange which mates it onto the turbo. If anybody here know if its possible to send back to them i think the warranty/gurantee only last a year. Car idling like crap blowing really bad and loss of power.
