Question

Would there be any point in putting a P1 turbo onto a decatted PPP UK turbo (MY00)?
What, if any, benefits could I expect?

Ta.

Yes, but you would want boost control to benefit. This could be as simple as a Dawes, and a fuel cut lifter if you want to run higher than fuel cut. However, the AE802 MY00 ECU is a bit lacking, so you would benefit changing to an AE801 MY99 ECU. If funds allow a remap or aftermarket ECU would work better.

Make sure you basic breathing is sorted out to allow the full benefits of the turbo - eg exhaust in particular. Consider also the standard fuel pump - some will change this with a big turbo.

The P1 turbo is just a VF28, yes its a fair bit bigger than the TD04 but the fuel pump will be fine for as long as you don't go mad on boost. The boost control settings will probably be ok as is given that it will be slower spooling than the TD04 but duty cycles may be on the low side restricing boost. Main issue is wether the PPP fueling would be good enough to cope without a remap. If its not then changing the fuel pump could help that.
