Is it just me, but I get more hassle on the road from assorted diesel drivers, than EVOs M3s etc etc? Why does every Tom, Dick and Rudolf think they'll be held up by an Impreza Turbo? I've had everything from diesel Mercs to ancient 205s sat 3" from the rear bumper, thinking they can overtake me when the traffic clears. Do they like being humiliated, never to be seen again? They don't seem to learn...

No, they're just tossers.

306 DTurbos are a source of constant mirth to me. They *really* try. I used to have a R19 16v and the silly sods were always wanting to play. Why oh why???? Still, this was when I lived near Coventry, where local law demands that you buy a peugeot...

Nick.

Here in the North East it seems to be Golfs... The drivers look so superior. Why. I don't know, 'cos we all know they don't look much good anymore, don't go very fast, don't handle and so I'm told, aren't even built too well these days!

I know a guy with a 306D turbo and he claims to get 66mpg with it - must be an interesting drive...

Not all diesel drivers are tossers, though. A mate had a quattro 2.5 turbo diesel A4 which was a damn fine car...

Diesel men are a bit of a nuisance, but they can be readily dealt with by a swift flick of the right foot...

mate has a Golf GTTdi - or whatever the hell they call it - the 6 speed one.
It actually surprised me how swift it was - not scooby quick but fun all the same.
Bit wheezy over 80 though.

I'd never hassle a Scoob! Wouldn't like them to feel to humiliated! LOL

Only kidding. I know what you mean about Diesel people. We're always banging on about Mpg etc, and older TD cars do seem to be trying awfully hard a lot of the time.

I guess that the only time I get held up by an Impreza is around the twistier parts of the Ring, where the torque does the business! Apart from that, a Scoob is always going to be quicker point to point. It's just that it'll cost you more ,and I'll be having just as much fun

Matt
