Hi john ive been having alot of boost problems over the last 6-7 weeks. i took the car in to a subaru dealer but they could not find the cause pick the car up still only 0.5 bar boost. got home plug the ecu fault check plugs in and got code 44 boost soleniod not working. Why did they not pick that up???
So i order a dawes device plus afr meter fitted both parts and found only red light would flash on wot plus car seemed very jerky on boost 0.7 bar, so i thought i would check the voltage from the lambard sensor with my dvm and i was only getting 0.5-0.6 volts on wot. Then i thought it might be the maf sensor took some readings and this what i found

on tick over 1.25 volts
on over run from speed 0.9 volts
half trottle around town 2.3 volts
on wot in 2,3 gear 3.19 volts
On looking at other peoples volts from delta dish results i would say that the maf is f***ed but would you say the same before i buy a new one.

thanks daz

Sounds like a dodgy MAF as you say. Note you can now buy just the sensor.

Not sure why you got the wastegate solenoid code.

Just phoned the subaru dealer in milton keynes and spoke to the lady in parts and said i need just the maf sensor with part no 22794AA010PE
she ask for the vin no of the car , and was then told thats no proplem the part will be in one thursday with a price of 61.40+vat. I was very surprised as the problems other people have had getting just the sensor.

I wonder what the PE stands for at the end of the part number. Mine didn't have the PE bit, just the number. Anyone know?

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Cool

Picked up fitted my new MAF sensor. As soon as i started the engine there was a differance in tick over, driving the car all the tourqe and power is back the engine note is better and it is so much smoother. I can not belive the amount of trouble that MAF sensor has caused me, Now on the dawes afr at wot i get the blue led all the time thats with 14psi of boost will have a play with dawes device on sunday and try 16-17psi, if any one is having low boost, tick over, running problems or like mine all of them + running lean just replace the maf at £60 you can not go wrong you never know.

Question

Daz (Darren?) Do they have the parts department set up in Fenny Stratford already? (Dear Leap).

I thought the servicing wasn't ready yet and they ship the cars to Aylesbury so I though that they wouldn't have the parts dept either.

Wink

Hay guys i dont know if they a full blown parts department she said they have small things on site but can get marjor parts with in a day or two. The reason i said about this dealer is i had no problem with ordering just the MAF sensor, ie i told her the part number and with in 2-3 mins she told me that will be in on thursday. All the other dealers i spoke to said theres no such part number how do you know its gone and all that, and said you will have to buy the on are parts database at £300+vat. It just made a nice change to order a part for your scooby with out having to justify how you know that part has gone to the bloke that works in the parts depatment. Not having a go at people that work in parts department but you guys know what i mean.
