is there an intercooler on the market that is cooled, ie by the air con. or am i reinventing the wheel.

It can be done, but the gains aren't so good as you might think, someone will no doubt post up the name of the website of the people who do it.

I heard of people trying it before, but the engine power required to drive the compressor, outweighed any gains in cooler charge, and horsepowerpower. A good intercooler is a much better option, and draws zero poer from the engine.
