MY01 double din bad reception
Was this the factory fit?
There is a known "gotya" with MY01+ that means you need to connect the external aerial/amp turn on lead to the ISO connector if it's a replacement, otherwise the active aerial doesn't power up.
If it's original, erm... It shouldn't be *that* bad.

Suppose I am just very picky 'cos it is the original. Maybe I should try selling it and put in that Nakamichi I have been eyeing for such a long time. At least it has RDS as well as RCA's.

Your head unit will have an "external remote turn-on", or "aerial trigger", or "amp turn-on" or something like that. Most times this is not connected into the ISO block despite there being a place in the ISO block defined for it.
The MY01+ has an aerial in the back windscreen IIRC, and this needs turning on.
This should be in the FAQ. I'll check, and if it ain't I'll search and add it.
