Well, not been happy with gear selection in my STI since new.

Gave it a few thousand to loosen up, which improved matters, but it was still not satisfactory.

Dealer changed the oil in it today (with Subaru Gear oil) and it really has improved things no end.

Much sweeter and quicker changing gear now, makes for smoother progress too as the revs don't drop so much in between gears.

Much happier with the car now, roll on the PPP.

any idea what the rating of the oil was , I was thinking of using the Motul 75-90 gear oil .

Just use the Subaru oil which is a semi sysnthetic, if you use too good a quality then the syncro rings don't bite properly and you end up with a knotchy gearbox.
