Okey dokey.

I'm gonna be removing the resonator this weekend as I no longer need it, any one know how to go about doing it and whats involved? How do you get the arch liner off from inside the wing?
I know the wheel has to come off but what else do I need to do?

Cheers
Neil.

Where can i get some of those plasticky thingies?

I could also do with some of the thingies that hold the skirts on.

This car is held together primarily by plastic thingies!

Mine actually wouldn't - too much solidified mud on the other side! Couldn't even undo the thing once it was out...

Oh yes, just remembered - I used entirely different plastic thingies that just happened to work. I am now also on the lookout for some replacement ones...

Before I started taking my arch linings out (for various work), I used a hose to 'jet' out as much of the crap from the arches.

Use a proper fitting screw driver on everything with a screw slot and just be very careful with the rest!

Undo all the plastic 'thingies' that you can see, and prise out the arch lining.

The res box is HOOJ! you wont miss that

Wotcher Neil!

There are two or three different fittings (it's been a while since I had a look).

The ones with the crosshead screw just undo with a quarter or half turn anticlockwise.

For the ones that look like a flat mushroom with a round centre dimple, carefully push the centre dimple in with a blunt instrument (like a bit of dowel the same diameter - about 3mm)

You shouldn't need to renew any fixings if you take care - I didn't, but I made sure everything was clean and sat there gently trying the fittings befoe I worked out how they held together.

Any probs, call me.

Cheers,
Steve

When I did my car's skirts, I took all the bolts that held them on to a local bolt and nut stockist, who said they were v. similar to foofing bolts, and sold me a job lot of stainless ones for £2.
Replacement clips came from my "Local" dealer (then:25 miles, Now: 35 miles.)
How come Subarus sell so well, but dealerships would rather sell Saab?????????????

I've had mine off twice recently, once last weekend once this and have had no problems and not needed to replace them. Gave them a nidge with little screw driver and voila!
Resonator has now gone and replaced by a cold air pipe. Fiddly? you better believe it, but still only took me about an hour.

Managed to do it see here:

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=114950

I killed one of them but the others survived - althought the ones with like a screw head are now just chewed They will be ok but have to be broken to take off again and then I'll need some new ones!!
