drager has a cat, hiper doesn't.

drager sticks out straight, hiper at an angle (but has a straighter route under the car)

I've had both on my car (hiper now). The Drager is the quieter of the two and follows the same route as the standard exhaust. The hiper is quite a lot louder, and does stick out at an angle due to the pipework being straighter. Previous posts would seem to suggest that the hiper will give the best gains, but I can't remember what it was like with the Drager. I think the Drager makes a nicer burble sound, the hiper is just plain loud !

Cool

I'm quite happy with it so I'll stick with it. I don't mind the noise but my 2 year old son son isn't happy when he's sitting in the passenger side rear seat. If I put my foot down he says 'turn the fast off dad' but never complained when the Drager was on. I have moved his seat to the front, the Mrs has been relegated to the back !!

The Drager has a cat? Are you sure? I thought it was just a resonator?

I went from a standard exhaust to a HKS decat downpipe and the Drager centre and backbox. I also changed from a standard air filter to a panel filter at the same time.

There was quite a difference in the noise from the turbo, a performance increase at the top end but I felt it had lost a little lower down. I don't know what sort of increase you would get if you kept the same downpipe you have already.

I then changed the downpipe for a scoobysport 2.5" downpipe and kept the Drager on. The whole sound changed, the car was quieter but made a nicer sound. I went for the 2.5" over the 3" in an attempt to get back some of the bottom end. It is definitely better all round with the scoobysport dp.

The final change was made when I got the hiper centre and backbox put on. Difficult to say what difference this has made except for the noise.

If you have a standard exhaust on now then you will probably get some sort of improvement by fitting the centre and backbox because you will do away with the centre cat, and the HKS is probably much more free flowing. You need to go for a decat downpipe to get the full benefits though.

Hiper and Drager are both cat back solutions (ie. mid-section + back box), neither have a cat.

Drager has a backbox coated in aluminumised (sp!) steel
Hiper is stainless steel

I believe both have mild steel centre sections, that have some sort of power coat / paint coat...

The Hiper is the nearest thing to the Blitz NUR Spec that HKS do noise level wise.

The Hiper is a high flow system, the pipe is as straight as possible to increase ease of air flow.

They did a limited edition TiTip Hiper, which was slightly quieter than the stainless steel version, but performed as well...

I had a Super Drager on my P1 + scoobysport d/p - found it boomed around 85mph on a private road

Had a TiTip Hiper on my '01 WRX, sounded much better and didn't boom..

Think that covers it, Alex

I currently run a 3inch downpipe no cat to 2 1/2 inch scorpion imola stainless steel all the way through. This is quite loud under boost. So replacing the system with the Hiper HKS would definately make a difference ?

I found the change from the HKS 3" single dump downpipe to the scoobysport downpipe had the biggest effect on reducing the noise of the exhaust. I would agree that the Drager booms a bit too, more so with the HKS downpipe.

Edited to add:

My hiper is a TiTip
