My clutch sometimes makes a vibrating, squealing-type noise when engaging from stationary in first gear (not when disengaging, which I understand is usually the release bearing). If I let the clutch up at idle speed, all is well. If I let it up at around 1500-2000rpm there's a slight squeal as it bites (that you can feel through the pedal slightly). Interestingly it only happens when it's hot, and when it does so the normally ever-present judder isn't there. It doesn't slip at all (yet), although there doesn't seem to be much travel left in the pedal (i.e. the biting point is quite near the top).

So, clutch on the way out or not?
