Having not driven anone else's Scoob, I'm not sure whats "normal" and what isn't in terms of how the gearchange is.

The lever doesn't self-centre and it feels a bit stiff going into each gear (but equally stiff on each gear, so it's not one gear going out) also I get a crunch when changing from 5th to 4th everytime (tried heel and toe-ing and even double de-clutching but it always does it). Generally the lever feels a bit vague, not very Japanese.

Is all this normal and what can be done about it?

Cheers!

Thumbs down

mine self centre's (MY99 UK) but i have trouble getting into reverse all the time - i've heard they aren't the best gearbox's... and that other people have similar issues... but the not going back to the centre is worrying..

(P.S. - i aint no expert or mechanic - just my thoughts on the matter)

Hehe, I've given up worrying about reverse, I just figure it ain't syncromesh

I'm hoping I just have a worn lever linkage and a quickshifter will sort it, maybe.
