My car is a 94 WRX Auto with Link ECU, chargecooler, air filter etc - running 1.2bar of boost. 280bhp approx.

The exhaust is as follows:

MRT downpipe with high-flow cat (stainless steel)
MRT centre section with muffler/silencer (stainless steel)
Remus twin 90mm backbox (mild steel)

The cat is in the downpipe and MOTs are no problem (once the standard ECU is back in and the Lambda sensor works that is as I found out at the end of June! )



The exhaust is quieter than standard but seems to flow well - the Remus backbox is responsible for a lot of the "noise removal" I think.



I've had no problems with any of the exhaust parts and would buy the same again.

Anyone used one in the centre pipe?

I see PE do one... but its a tad expensive

Anyone used it or used another one?

Stephen Done uses a PE one, passed his MOT and his car goes well.

 

Steven Done has a PE one & it seems to work nicely (as in clears up all the exhaust & doesn't appear to be slowing him down at all )
Also expensive

I've got a MRT downpipe with a high-flow cat on my car - works well but again not cheap (£325 approx + shipping + duty)...

Apparently Graham Goode also do a cat exhaust.

I wonder how it affects the noise too

 

I haven't got one, but judging from what people say there's a slight decrease in noise level with the mid-cat and quite a bit from the DP - Gavin's car (apparently ) runs as quite a a standard, although that is also with a very quiet BB.
It would make sense as there's more fluffly stuff in the way of the noise.

 

I would like to ask to GavinP if your highflow cat is a centre catted MRT section.
What is your car, you lost any power??, your car pass MOT? you buy it again or this tame you choose the PE cat.
