Question

Hi All,

Got me RS catalogue the other day and they had 0 to 4 bar pressure gauges for about 8 quid !!! Has anybody had experience of connecting these as boost gauges ? Or are they unsuitable ?

If you know what boost level your car is running at, Connect the Rs gauge & see if it reads the same, If not you lost nothing if it does, Bonus a dirt cheap boost gauge.

Hi,

You would need a pressure/vacuum gauge as the engine pulls a vacuum as well as producing boost (don't fully understand how).

However if the gauge you mention is in absolute units i.e. 0Bar = full vacuum, then it should be OK. Most gauges however read in Barg (Bar gauge) where 0barg = atmospheric pressure so vacuum = -1Barg.

As faras the rest of your question goes, as long as it is plumbed into the correct place with appropriate tubing, it will work.
