Just been watching the Impreza episode and out of interest, entered the reg Y296 LAN into the DVLA database, to find it's been untaxed and unmot'd since 2012, am thinking maybe the new owner just put a personal reg on it as the new V5 was also issued in the same year....🤔

 

No, once you put a car on a private plate the original registration is no longer searchable.

Maybe the new owner wrote it off? 🤔
