2007 UK spec Forester XT Tow Bar and Rear Parking Sensors
Hi all. I've just bought a 2007 Forester XT (UK spec). It's got a tow bar and rear park sensor. The sensor unit just beeps 3 times when selecting reverse and does not beep on proxitmity, so I assume they are switched off because of the tow bar. Does anyone know where thes switch is to turn them back on?
Suspect the supply will be tapped into reversing light supply either at a rear lamp assembly or using the towing connector (LH side spare wheel well area/ lower rear side trim).
Unless the earlier "metallic strip on inside of bumper cover" version was fitted.

Thanks Don! I hadn't paid much attention to this part of the car yet (the engine's in bits already!), but I took it apart just now. It seems the unit, whatever it is, was fitted after 2013, and their idea of turning it off, was to butcher the trim and the wiring harness... eye roll...
To close this out. The birdsnet of cut wires are the tow socket. The reverse unit is a steel mate something or other. Their customer service team said that the 3 beeps means one or more bad sensors. So I plane to replace the whole thing anyway.
