Am I missing a piece if the jigsaw????????????

I have already fitted the Blitz NUR Spec which replaces everything from CAT back, and have now bought the Scooby Sport Downpipe.

I was presuming that the downpipe also replaced the CAT! Is this correct or will I still need a CAT Bypass pipe?????????

 

The confusion comes because on later cars, there are two cats.

All Imprezas have a downpipe cat, some have a centre section cat as well.

Japanese "Cat Back" systems normally comprise a centre section and back box. With your downpipe fitted, this will now be a full turbo back system.

 

Is the mid-section CAT alone, good enough to pass emmision tests (i.e. MOT)?

I was ordering a Dp yesterday and asked the same question regards MOT. As far as I am led to believe , if the car is fully up to temperature then it'll pass the MOT

 

I'll place my order right away then!

I wouldn't count on it....

Some garages will put a special two cat centre section in to get it passed the MOT so either way it's nothing to worry about.

 

Placed the order - should arrive early next week.

Having the car MOT'ed Tuesday and hopefully the DP will have arrived by then so I'll get them to fit it after the MOT and do emmission tests for before and after to compare.
