I've started to notice that I've got a 'Judder' problem with my Scoob. I've been told that this is down to the clutch and therefore will probably have to replace it soon. Has anyone replaced a clutch on a MY99 before, and if so, how much did it set you back?

(God I wish I extended the warranty now)

Judder - "they all do that sir"

You can replace the clutch or just live with it / drive round it. The judder goes on my MY99 once the car is warmed up and a few more revs will pulling away from junctions helps a bit.

 

Replacing the clutch dont cure the judder from experience.
The AP clutch i fitted recently has sorted it 80%, but its still far from perfect.

I always get this Rich when the car is warming up. Don't worry - be happy.

 

You will never cure the judder unless the flywheel is also replaced. We won't fit a clutch without doing this.

Pete I thought you just skimmed it not replaced it

I can't remember how much I payed to have my AP one fitted in the end. I'll see if I can find the recipt.

Have you tried your dealer?

I had a juddering clutch replaced on a MY98 at 2.5yrs old and 25k miles under warranty. I'm not the only person either.

If the dealer doesn't want to know then try another one.

We actually do it on an exchange basis. We have a stock of re-machined ones, to save on fitting time.

If you leave the change for too long, your flywheel can become badly cracked and then it can't be exchanged.
