i'm ready for new tyres-i've got s02's on now, reading the threads on here "great in wet,but only average in the dry!"-as i change them every 3-4 months are there any better ones i could get for dry summer weather? advice welcome
had a new clutch fitted in january 20k miles ago,its on its last legs, today i went to overtake on a country road changed down booted it got along side two cars dipped the clutch to change up the peddle stayed on the floor and i could not get a gear (scary) fortunately i had enough momentum to pass the cars, had to hook my foot under the pedal and pull it back into position, this is now happening nearly every time i change up above 6000rpm (sti 5 by the way )anyone else suffer from this- or have a solution

Tyres - try a search on tyres or tyre performance chart. Somweone compiled and produced a pretty comprehensive and detailed document on this subject.

Your clutch
Never heard of a clutch pedal doing that before - only on cable clutches - may not be knackered in the worn out sense perhaps falling to bits?!?
Airlock in the sysyem
no fluid/fluid leak

My clutch has done this but only twice in 30,000 miles.

Clearly no chance of getting dealer to reproduce the fault

My clutch also sometimes becomes exceedingly stiff. Both faults are probably a slave or master cylider/piston sticking, either because of swarf or poor production tolerances.
